The astonishing story of the talented leader of The Cure
Jérémy Wulc is a scriptwriter and author. He writes for television and advertising as well as for various comedians and TV presenters. In 1989, he met Robert Smith and went from being a fan to a friend of the band The Cure, joining them for several tours. He tells about his experiences with the band in his book My Dream Comes True (2008), with more than 120 personal photos.
As a fan of The Cure as well as Robert Smith's friend, Jérémy Wulc wanted to pay homage to Smith by telling the story of his life as we've never before heard. Robert Smith is a fascinating person and a genius songwriter who has led the band single-handedly since its beginnings. However, often the dark side of things gains the upper hand in Smith's world. In this book, written like a novel, Jérémy Wulc recounts Smith's childhood, how he met his wife and other members of the band, their first concerts, first releases, the physical transformations, turbulent tours, drugs and doubts, but also the successes. Using his close contacts with Robert and his family as well as his personal experiences with the band, Jérémy Wulc provides a unique and unedited account of one of the most striking musicians from the last 30 years.
